EV Battery Trays

The move to electric vehicles requires complex battery tray pressings to be designed and produced to carry the battery packs. Their design creates unique pressing complexities and Whiston Industries have successfully over come these for VW group. The high volume aluminium pressing required modular, interchangeable tandem dies for double out production across different lengths.

Whiston Industries successfully delivered the project to VW plants in North America where the tooling ran, at speed, within specification, first time with no manual commissioning necessary. Following this success, repeat orders have been received from VW for further battery tray tooling.
